In 1990, at the age of 15, Ian left school without any professional qualifications and ventured into the construction world, starting as a labourer. Ian worked hard, learning the ropes of bricklaying and gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of construction. His journey took him to interesting projects, like renovating Jamie Oliver's houses in Essex and Hampstead Heath and working on his first London restaurant. These experiences paved the way for Ian to launch his own construction business, specialising in renovating both commercial and residential properties in and around the UK. It was during this entrepreneurial journey that Ian first crossed paths with Wildstone.
Ian joined Wildstone as a contractor in 2011, installing various sites, including the Eros screens, Marble Arch, and Lench Street. In 2014, he was offered the opportunity to provide site supervision to Wildstone sites until 2016 when Wildstone offered him an employed role as Head of Construction. He has since project managed numerous large format structures for Wildstone, including the tallest advertising structure in Scotland - M8 Tower in Glasgow, and has worked with various media owners.
When reflecting on his time at Wildstone, Ian shared,
"From day one, Wildstone has been an incredible workplace. Over the years, I've seen it grow into an even more amazing and inclusive environment, surrounded by fantastic colleagues. Wildstone has played a pivotal role in my personal growth throughout the years. I'm glad that I can contribute to this company, and I will continue to do my best to support Wildstone's success. Today, I take pride in holding the positions of Principal Designer, responsible for overseeing site Health & Safety, and Head of Delivery, spearheading the largest digital rollout in the UK.”
At Wildstone, we value the different experiences each of our colleagues bring to the table. Their diverse backgrounds enrich our team as we work together towards our goals. Recognising Ian's accomplishments, we appreciate his contributions at Wildstone and look forward to his continued success as he embraces new and exciting challenges.
Jill Hebden, Wildstone UK Managing Director, adds,
"Ian’s career growth at Wildstone is testament to his calm demeanour and can-do approach, his hard work and commitment over the years made him the stand out candidate to be promoted to Head of Delivery and he continues to be instrumental in the success of our digitisation programme across the UK.”
